NWIHT currently holds two State-level approvals and one regional accreditation to teach allied health and information technology courses.

"Accreditation focuses on school improvement, transfer of credits, and access to scholarships and grants (Source: ncacasi.org)."

Northwestern Institute of Health and Technology received candidacy accreditation status from the North Central Association (NCA) last April 6, 2006. Click here to view our NCA accreditation letter.

Before any school can offer a nursing program, the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulations (IDFPR) must approve an institution's application at three levels. Namely, Feasibility Study, Program Curriculum and Site Visit.

This approval process is rigorous, detailed, and lengthy. Rightfully so, if a school is to produce the best nurses that our community needs. NWIHT has gone through all three levels of approval. Click here to view IDFPR's final approval that allows NWIHT to offer the Practical Nursing program.

Nortwestern Institute of Health and Technology has approval to operate by the Superintendent of the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE). All courses/programs taught by NWIHT had undergone ISBE's in-depth review process. Click here to view our ISBE approval.
